The Recaro SR4 seats shown in the image are highly compatible with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution chassis line.
Chassis & Rail CompatibilityBottom-Mount Design: The Recaro SR4 is a bottom-mounted reclining sport seat.
Vehicle-Specific Rails Required: To install these into any generation of Lancer Evolution (Evo 1 through Evo X), you cannot use your factory non-Recaro rails. You must source chassis-specific bottom-mount seat rails designed for both the Recaro SR series and your specific Evo generation (e.g., rails from manufacturers like Recaro Japan or Kawai Works).Evo 4, 5, and 6 (CN9A/CP9A): These generations naturally came factory-equipped with similar Recaro seats (like the SR3). If your car already has factory Evo 4ā6 Recaro rails, the SR4 will usually bolt up with minor or no modifications, as the bottom mounting pitch is nearly identical.Evo 7, 8, and 9 (CT9A): Extremely compatible. You just need CT9A-specific bottom-mount rails.Evo X (CZ4A): Fully compatible using a CZ4A bottom-mount rail adapter.
Airbag & Weight Sensors: If you are putting these into a modern Evo (like the Evo X), your factory seats have side airbags and passenger weight sensors built-in. Swapping to aftermarket SR4s will trigger an airbag warning light on your dash unless you transfer the factory weight sensors over or install bypass resistors.
Seatbelt Buckles: You will need to unbolt your factory seatbelt buckles and transfer them over to the new seat rail anchor points.
