Mitsubishi’s 10th and final Lancer Evolution arrived for 2008. It gained a new, more powerful engine, a revised suspension system, and a design inspired by sharks and fighter jets, according to the company. MR denoted an automatic transmission; stick-shifted variants were called GSR. Mitsubishi canceled the Lancer Evolution in 2016, and it all but confirmed the model will not return in the foreseeable future.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, rated at 291 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque when left stock. The modifications increase those figures to 757 and 522, respectively, when the engine burns E85 fuel, according to a dyno sheet pictured in the gallery. The engine spins the four wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.
